I used to be a real hardcore gamer, but due to the lack of time and the quality of games that was being realised I stopped getting involved. Every game I’ve played I was well above average but not good enough to beat the top tier players. I always have a claim to fame in every game. For instance I took down a squad of 8 people in Counter Strike in the first minute of the round and another time I got a Kilimanjaro in Halo 2, that’s 8 kills within 5 seconds of each other. I understand a lot of people won’t be able to appreciate what I am saying unless you have played those two games. My longest session without sleeping was around 30+ hours.
This stuff was in my blood, I learned to touch type at the age of 12 just so I could smack talk the other team and play at the same time. Anyway in the beginning I played a lot of PC games, mainly because you can play with so many different players online. This was well before Xbox Live. There were cheaters from day one and I couldn’t stand them. It made no sense, they weren’t proving anything. They were just ruining the experience for everyone else.
I always wanted to go to LAN tournament (Local Area Network) where people can bring their own PCs and duke it out with some of the best players from around the world. I found this video about two years ago and it’s still popular today.
Cheaters get to hide behind their computers at home but what if they were caught cheating in a live tournament. They get just what they deserved.
