Expiration Date

I was reading the official “Mountain Valley Spring” website today:

“Every drop of Mountain Valley comes from a single, natural spring source that originates deep within the earth’s surface”.

So it’s been flowing through some valley for a few decades, but it doesn’t explain why my bottle of water goes off at the end of the month.

My brother sent me this joke today:

Two IT guys were talking in a bar after work. “Guess what,” says the first IT guy, “yesterday, I met this gorgeous blonde in a bar.”

“What did you do?” says the other IT guy.

“Well, I invited her over to my place, we had a couple of drinks, we got into the mood and then she suddenly asked me
to take all her clothes off.”

“You’re kidding me!” says the second IT guy.

“I took her miniskirt off,
Ready Brek - The Way Forward says:
and then I lifted her and put her on my desk next to my new laptop.”

“Really? You got a new laptop?

A good friend of ours got mugged for the second time two nights ago. My brother has wrote a letter to the Sur  English (English language weekly newspaper, published in Málaga and serving Andalucía.) in the hope they would take interest in the growing problem.

“To Whom It May Concern,

I would like to bring it to your attention about the amount of muggings that is occurring in La Linea against foreigners. Earlier this year six people I personally know were mugged, of these six only two actually reported the crime. Those that actually reported the crime all spoke good Spanish but were met with disinterest from the local police. The vast majority of these assaults are taking place on Avenida Veinte de Abril at the front of the red block of buildings opposite the construction site. Now I can only presume that the muggers live within the block because it is now a notorious location to avoid after midnight.

The reason I have decided to contact you is because my friend was mugged for the second time on Sunday evening and I feel something should be done about it. The six people I referred to were all assaulted on the road I mentioned by three or more youths aged sixteen and upwards, in this location alone I could list thirty or more events that I know of from proper muggings to the case of a friend who was on his mobile phone and hit in the face and just for his phone.

The most recent case was on Sunday 27th of August, it took place near Calle San Jose a friend of
mine was walking home after finishing work and a man approached him in his late twenties. The man asked him for one Euro (ironically a police car drove past 10 seconds previously) to which my friend said he didn’t have. Then the man said louder “Give me a Euro” again my friend repeated “No” and started to walk away. At this point the man speeded up so he was alongside.  He began to speak again so my friend turned around and confronted by two more people aged 18-22. One of the youths was brandishing an iron bar. So my friend succumbed to the fact that he was indeed being mugged again for the second time this year. They took off him 50 Euros and 20 Pounds. When I asked him if he had reported this to the police he said there was no point as he had done so the last time and they were not interested then, so why should they be now.

I have lived in La Linea for around 6 years and luckily I’ve never been assaulted but I am sure given the current situation it is only a matter of time until it happens. On that note it is probable that at some point in the near future someone is going to be seriously hurt”.

If Charles Bronson was alive he could fix this problem. Check out this Death Wish site I found. Some of you may remember my Bronson Tribute Post as well.

True Tilt

Posted on August 28th, 2006 in Poker by Oliver.Cross

TiltTilt is a poker term for a state of mental confusion or frustration. Most people believe that Tilt only occurs after a bad beat (a hand being beaten by another hand that had a very low percentage of becoming a winning hand) which is almost true. A large majority of the time Tilt arises from frequent occurrences of bad luck and hostility towards bad players who got fortunate. Victims of Tilt tend to adopt an over aggressive behaviour by over betting pots and bluffing too much. Alternatively a player on Tilt can sometimes play very passive and weak, such as calling too many flops and attempting long shot odds. A weak player can be afraid to bet because they are still cautious of losing more money. A player on Tilt will only adopt one of the two styles, usually the more aggressive. A player could be on Tilt after folding to a large bet but only to be shown a bluff. Having an opponent catch a miracle card late in a hand. Just generally being out drawn (when a dominated hand gets one of the few cards needed to win).

Although the above are all general factors that are associated with Tilt, situations outside the poker table can also have a similar effect. Lack of sleep can effect your concentration. Personal problems such as work, family, friends, marriage, relationship issues and personal health can keep you from being focused. Playing intoxicated can relax your game but can also lead to playing more loose (A player who plays many hands regardless of the strength of the cards he is holding. playing more), which is a dangerous strategy.

A player will knowingly adopt the Tilt mentality, however if he or she can control her emotions it is the difference between a professional and amateur.

Words Of Wisdom From Bush

I just read an interesting article about a top US Dr called ”Joseph M. Price”. Joseph believes president Bush is showing symptoms of pre-senile dementia.

Before watching the video below, watch this first: “Bush Ten Years Ago and Now“.
